The First Nursery: A Mini Village for Big Imaginations

Born from the need for better childcare after the birth of her fourth child, Maggie set out to build the nursery she couldn’t find. Partnering with architect Lou Davies, they designed a space that felt more like a magical play world than a school.

At its heart was a beautifully crafted mini village – playhouses designed to be half child, half adult-sized, seamlessly blending their worlds and bringing grown-ups down to a child’s level. This masterclass in inclusive design sparked imagination, encouraged connection, and created an environment loved by parents, children, and staff alike.
